This pack was the main haversack used by the infantry in the ETO. This pack is one of my favorite U.S.
WW2 haversacks because of the many uses it has. There are slots at the bottem for a pack carrier. It was
used to carry tents, sleeping bag or blankets. There are two holes for your shovel to hang form or anything
that had the wire carriers. There was also a meat can pouch which had three slots for the kinife, fork
and the spoon. The can slid in the front of the three slots. The M1928 haversack is really a mat. It
becomes a pack when you lace up the staps and load it up. The pack carried a blanket or a poncho, a change
of clothes, a weapons cleaning kit and maybe some k rations. Remember the poncho was always carried!
The M1928 Haversack can be found for 15-40 dollars. If you look around you can probably find a good
condition one for 5-15 dollars. (You don't need a mint peice to re-enact!)
